"مشعل؟" اسے ماضی اتنی تیزی اور گہرائی سے یاد آیا کہ حال دھندلا
گیا۔ وہ معصوم چہرے اور کھلکھلاہٹیں۔ ماہ کامل ساکت کھڑی تھی۔ وہ لڑکی تیزی سے اس کے
گلے سے لگ گئی۔
"میں چلتا ہوں۔" سراقہ جھجھکتا ہوا گیٹ سے باہر نکل گیا۔
"جب لینا ہو تو مجھے میسج کردینا۔" اسے یوں مزید ٹھہرنا اچھا نہ لگا تو تاکید
کرتا باہر نکل گیا۔

لڑکی اسے دل بھر کر دیکھ رہی تھی۔
"تم کتنی بدل گئی ہو ماہ!" اس کی آنکھوں میں آنسو تھے اور ماہ
اسے اب بھی بے یقینی سے تک رہی تھی۔
"سب بدل گیا مشعل! اور تم بھی۔۔" اس نے نم ہوتی آنکھوں کو رگڑا۔
"میں نے تمہیں بہت یاد کیا۔۔ اور بدر عالم کو! وہ کیسا ہے؟ کیوں
نہ لائی تم اسے ساتھ؟"

کو وہ پہلی سے کافی بدلی ہوئی لگی۔ چہرہ مزید نکھر گیا تھا البتہ لبوں پر چہکتی مسکراہٹ
نہیں تھی۔ اب وہ بھی پھیکی ہوگئی تھی۔
"وہ ٹھیک نہیں ہے مگر جب تم سب کو دیکھے گا تو خوش ہوجائے گا۔ اگلی
بار آؤں گی تو ساتھ لاؤں گی۔" اس کی آنکھیں بار بار خوشی سے نم ہو رہی تھیں۔
"میں انتظار کروں گی۔" وہ پھر پھیکا سا مسکرائی۔ "یہ وقت
کتنی جلدی بیت گیا نا ماہ۔" اس کی آنکھوں کے گرد حلقے تھے۔
"ہم بڑے ہوگئے۔۔" ہاتھ ابھی بھی اس کے ہاتھوں میں تھا۔
"تم کیسی ہو مشعل؟" اس نے مشعل کی آنکھوں میں دیکھا تو مشعل آنکھیں نہ ملا
سکی۔ وہ ادھر ادھر دیکھنے لگی۔
"ٹھیک ہوں۔ بہت ٹھیک ہوں۔"
"اور باقی سب کیسے ہیں؟" اسے جاننے کا اشتیاق ہوا۔
