ساد نے چائے کی چسکی لیتے ہوئے عرفان کو دیکھا اور اچانک پوچھا،
“تم نے لڑنا کہاں سے سیکھا؟”عرفان،، جو آریا، کی
طرف دیکھ رہا تھا، ساد، کی بات سن کر ہنس پڑا۔
“ابو نے سکھایا، پھر باقی میری بھائی نے۔
ہمارے گاؤں میں تو لڑائی جیسے کھیل تھا۔
”
اس نے سیٹھی لیتے ہوئے کہا،
“ایک
بار ہمارے گاؤں کے موچی نے میرے بھائی کو چیلنج کیا کہ وہ اسے پکڑ کے دیکھائے،
۔بھائی
نے اسے گلی میں دس منٹ تک بھگایا، اور آخر میں موچی ایک کھڈے میں گر گیا۔
سارا گاؤں ہنستا رہا!” عرفان، نے ہنستے ہوئے اپنا سر ہلایا۔
“پھر
موچی ہمیں دیکھ کر سلام کرتا تھا،
پر
ہم اسے ‘کھڈے کا بادشاہ’ کہتے تھے!
”ہیر،
نے قہقہہ لگایا، اور ساد، کے چہرے پر بھی ہلکی سی مسکراہٹ آئی۔ عرفان، نے ایک اور قصہ
شروع کیا۔ “اور ایک بار ہمارے گاؤں میں ایک چور آیا، سوچا ہمارے گھر سے مرغیاں چوری
کرے گا۔ ہمارے کتے نے اسے رات بھر درخت پر چڑھائے رکھا۔ صبح گاؤں والوں نے اسے پکڑا
تو وہ بولا، ‘میں تو بس مرغیوں سے ملنے آیا تھا!’” عرفان، نے ہنستے ہوئے اپنی ران پر
ہاتھ مارا۔ “اب وہ چور ہمارے گاؤں میں سبزی بیچتا ہے، اور ہر بار کہتا ہے، ‘مرغیوں
سے دور رہو!’
