بچے گا اور نہ کوئی معصوم۔شہر کی آخری حدود جہاں سے پہاڑوں کا سلسلہ شروع ہوتا تھا،
وہاں
ایک قدیم طرز کا بنگلہ کھڑا تھا جسے لوگ “حویلی نما گھر” کہتے تھے۔ اس گھر کا نام
‘سحر گاہ’ تھا، لیکن اس کی دیواروں پر جمی کائی اور اداس پیڑوں کے سائے کچھ اور ہی
کہانی سناتے تھے۔ یہاں کی ہوا میں ایک خاص قسم کی بھاری بھرکن تھی، جیسے یہاں سانس
لینے کے لیے آکسیجن نہیں، بلکہ کسی کے ماضی کا بوجھ کھینچنا پڑتا ہو۔

کا معمول تھا کہ وہ رات کے تیسرے پہر بیدار ہوتا۔ اسے نیند سے بیر نہیں تھا، بس اسے
وہ خاموشی پسند تھی جو صرف رات کے اس پہر میسر آتی ہے۔ وہ کالی کافی کا مگ تھامے اپنی
اسٹڈی کے چوبی کواڑ کھول کر باہر گیلری میں آیا۔ دور دور تک پھیلے ہوئے درختوں کے جھنڈ
میں سے الو کی ہوک سنائی دے رہی تھی۔
