"کاش یہ سب سعید صاحب اپنی آنکھوں سے
دیکھ لیں، کاش انہیں یقین ہو جائے کہ میں صرف خوابوں میں نہیں رہتا بلکہ عملی طور پر
اقدام اٹھانے کی اہلیت بھی رکھتا ہوں ۔"
ایک شام وہ فیضان کے ساتھ چھت پر بیٹھا ہوا
تھا۔ ہوا میں خنکی تھی اور دور سے شہر کی روشنیاں ٹمٹما رہی تھیں۔ فیضان نے سگریٹ سلگاتے
ہوئے کہا ۔
"احمد! تمہاری کامیابی اچھی ہے لیکن
اصل جنگ ابھی باقی ہے۔" فیضان نے سگریٹ احمد کو پکڑانا چاہی مگر اس نے انکار کر
دیا ۔ فیضان مسکرایا ۔ وہ جانتا تھا اسے سگریٹ پینے سے عائشہ نے منع کیا ہے ۔
احمد نے سنجیدہ لہجے میں جواب دیا
"جانتا ہوں۔ میں دن رات محنت کر رہا ہوں
تاکہ عائشہ سعید صاحب کو دکھا سکوں کہ میں ان کی بیٹی کو خوش رکھنے کے قابل ہوں۔"
فیضان نے اس کی طرف دیکھ کر ہلکا سا مسکرایا۔
"تمہاری آنکھوں میں وہ ضد ہے جو بڑے
بڑے طوفانوں کو جھکا دیتی ہے۔ لیکن یاد رکھنا ضد اور انا میں فرق ہوتا ہے۔ اپنی محبت
کو ضد نہ بنانا اس کو عبادت کی طرح کرنا ۔ عبادت انسان کو عاجز بناتی ہے اور منکسر
المزاجی سکھاتی ہے ۔"
احمد نے سر ہلایا۔ "محبت میرے لیے ضد
نہیں ایک عہد ہے اور میں عہد نبھانے والا آدمی
ہوں۔"
عائشہ کے والد بھی آہستہ آہستہ بدلنے
لگے تھے۔ اگرچہ ان کا رویہ بیٹی کے ساتھ سخت ہی رہا مگر کبھی کبھار ان کی آنکھوں میں
نرمی کی جھلک دکھائی دیتی۔ ایک روز دفتر سے لوٹتے ہوئے وہ اخبارات کے ساتھ احمد کی
کمپنی کی خبر پڑھ بیٹھے۔ سرخی تھی ۔
"مقامی انجینئر احمد کی ٹیم کی شاندار
کامیابی، نیا پروجیکٹ بین الاقوامی معیار پر منظور"۔
یہ پڑھ کر ان کے ہاتھ لمحے بھر کو کانپ گئے۔
دل میں جیسے ایک انجانی لہر سی دوڑ گئی۔ وہ کئی لمحے اخبار پر نظریں جمائے بیٹھے رہے۔
پھر اخبار میز پر رکھ کر خاموشی سے کمرے میں چلے گئے۔
