، "اوہ خدایا، جاپانی چائے ہمیشہ پہلے دیکھی جاتی ہے، پھر محسوس
کی جاتی ہے، اور سب سے آخر میں پی جاتی ہے۔"
ریشان نے معصومیت سے کہا، "تو کیا میں ابھی دیکھ کر پی
سکتا ہوں یا تم کوئی اور رول بتاؤ گی؟"
ناویہ نے مزاحیہ انداز میں انگلی اٹھائی، "پہلے چائے سے
معذرت کرو، کیونکہ جاپانی لوگ ہر چیز کی عزت کرتے ہیں۔"
ریشان نے سنجیدگی سے چائے کے کپ کی طرف دیکھا"سوری چائے،
میں نے تمہیں فوراً پی کر برا کیا۔"
ناویہ اتنا ہنسی کہ اس کی آنکھوں میں آنسو آگئے، "تم بہت
عجیب ہو، ریشان۔"
اسی ہنسی میں ریشان کو وہ روشنی نظر آئی جس کی تلاش وہ بچپن سے کرتا آ رہا تھا۔ بچپن میں اس کی ماں اس کے پیدا ہونے کے وقت وفات پا چکی تھی، اور ریشان نے زیادہ تر زندگی پاکستان میں گزار دی تھی، اپنے والد کے ساتھ جو ہر لمحے اس کی تربیت اور حفاظت میں لگے رہتے تھے۔ اب، والد کے انتقال کے بعد، وہ جاپان میں اپنے مستقبل کے لیے قدم رکھ چکا تھا، مگر خاندان کے باقی افراد اس کی زندگی کے فیصلوں میں کبھی خوش نہیں ہوئے تھے۔
"یہ سب لوگ اتنے چپ کیوں ہیں؟"ریشان نے حیرت سے پوچھا۔
"یہاں سوالات نہیں پوچھے جاتے، صرف کام کیا جاتا ہے۔"ناویہ
مسکرائی۔
اسی وقت، ایک کولیگ یوشیرو اچانک اپنی کرسی سے اٹھا اور بغیر
کچھ کہے باہر نکل گیا۔ ریشان نے حیرت سے ناویہ کی طرف دیکھا۔
"یہ کیا تھا؟"
ناویہ کی مسکراہٹ کچھ اور مدھم ہو گئی۔ "یہ 'کرشی' ہے،
زیادہ کام سے موت۔ جاپان میں لوگ اپنی سانسوں سے زیادہ ڈیڈ لائنز کی فکر کرتے ہیں۔
یوشیرو شاید اسی بوجھ کو سنبھال نہیں سکا۔"
