کے استاد، پروفیسر نعمان، اکثر کہتے تھے۔
ایان،
تمہارے سوال عام نہیں ہیں۔ تمہیں ڈرنا چاہیے۔ کچھ دروازے ایسے ہیں جن پر دستک دینا
ہی خطرناک ہے۔
لیکن
ایان کبھی نہیں ڈرتا تھا۔ بلکہ اس کا ماننا تھا کہ خوف ہی انسان کو علم ے قریب کے جاتا

کے اندر جیسے کسی نے آگ لگا دی۔ پسینہ ماتھے پر چمکنے لگا۔
“یہ…
یہ کیسے…؟ یہ لائن تو میں نے کوڈ میں لکھی ہی نہیں تھی…”
اچانک
کھڑکی کے پٹ زور سے کھلے۔ ٹھنڈی ہوا اندر آئی۔ کمرہ بھر گیا سرسراہٹ سے۔ کاغذ زمین
پر بکھر گئے۔ اور تبھی کمرے کے کونے میں وہ سایہ ابھرا۔
سایہ…
جو انسان لگتا تھا مگر انسان نہ تھا۔ جیسے دھند کی شکل اختیار کر لی ہو۔
ایان
کا دل زور زور سے دھڑکنے لگا۔ وہ اپنی کرسی سے اٹھ کھڑا ہوا۔
“کون…
کون ہو تم؟”
