"بھائی، آپ نے کیا سوچا؟ سلیم آج بھی آیا تھا دکان پہ
"۔نثار حبیب کی بات سنتے ہی افضل حبیب نے دیوار سے ٹیک لگاتے ہوئے کشن کو
پیچھے کیا اور آرام سے بیٹھ گئے۔حمیدہ اور نعیمہ نے سوالیہ نظروں سے انہیں دیکھا۔
"میں
بھی یہی سوچ رہا ہوں، ماشااللہ سے نجو کافی سمجھدار ہو گئی ہے۔ گھر داری میں ماہر
ہے، بارہ بھی مکمل کرلی ہے۔ سوچ رہا ہوں سلیم کو بلوا لوں"۔افضل حبیب کی
بھاری آواز کمرے میں گونجی، تو حمیدہ اور نعیمہ کو فوراً اندازہ ہو گیا کہ بات کس
رخ پر جا رہی ہے۔
"تم بتاؤ حمیدہ، کیا کہتی ہو؟"۔افضل
نے اپنی اہلیہ کو دیکھا، جو سنجیدہ انداز میں کچھ سوچ رہی تھیں۔نوریز اور بلال ایک
طرف دیوار سے ٹیک لگائے، ٹانگیں سیدھی کیے، پوری توجہ سے گفتگو سن رہے تھے ۔ آخر
نجو ان کی اکلوتی بہن تھی۔
"ہُمم،
نجو کے ابا، آپ کی بات ٹھیک ہے، لیکن میں کچھ سوچ رہی تھی "۔انہوں نے دھیمے
لہجے میں افضل کی طرف جھک کر بات کی، اتنی آہستگی سے کہ صرف افضل ہی سن سکے۔
"کیا؟"۔
انہوں نے حیرانی سے پوچھا۔
"میں
سوچ رہی تھی کہ نجو کے ساتھ ہی بالا اور رانی کا رشتہ بھی پکا کر دیا
جائے"۔افضل کچھ لمحے زمین کو تکتے رہے، پھر سر اٹھا کر بالا اور نور کی طرف
دیکھا۔
