دادی طنزیہ بولیں، "تو خوابوں میں ہی دفنا دینا
اُسے!"
"آپ
ایسا کیوں کر رہی ہیں؟ شایان سے محبت نہیں ہے مجھے!"
"محبت
کا کیا ہے… وہ وقت کے ساتھ آ ہی جاتی ہے۔"
"آپ
کو کیسے یقین ہے کہ میں شایان کو قبول کر لوں گی؟"
"کیونکہ
تمہیں معلوم ہے کہ انکار کی قیمت خون ہے!"
مریم کا چہرہ آنسوؤں سے تر ہو چکا تھا،
"آپ
کو اپنی پوتی کی زندگی کی فکر نہیں؟"
"میں
اپنی عزت کی فکر میں زندہ ہوں، محبت سے نہیں!"
"میں
کسی کو تکلیف نہیں دینا چاہتی…"

دادی نے کرسی پر بیٹھتے ہوئے کہا،

تمہیں شاہمیر کی موت کا منظر بھی دیکھنا ہوگا!"
مریم سسکیاں بھرنے لگی،
"کیا
کوئی نانی اپنی پوتی کو یوں برباد کرتی ہے؟"
"جو
ضد کرے، وہ پوتی نہیں… باغی ہوتی ہے!"
"پھر
مجھے باغی ہی سمجھ لیجیے…"
"پھر
اپنے عشق کی قبر بھی خود کھود لیجیے!"
