تھے، ہاتھوں میں مزدوری کے چھالے، لیکن جیسے ہی نظر بیٹی پر پڑی، ساری تھکن مسکراہٹ
میں بدل گئی۔

ہو! میری شہزادی کیا کر رہی ہے؟"
سحر
دوڑ کر ان کے سینے سے لپٹ گئی۔
"ابو!
میں نے گڑیا کی شادی کر دی!"
"شادی؟
اتنی جلدی؟ اچھا، بتاؤ جہیز میں کیا دیا؟" جاوید نے ہنستے ہوئے کہا۔
"جہیز؟
وہ کیا ہوتا ہے ابو؟" اس نے معصومیت سے پوچھا۔

ایک لمحے کے لیے خاموش ہو گئے۔ جیسے دل میں کوئی پرانی چبھن جاگ اٹھی ہو۔ لیکن بیٹی
کی معصوم آنکھوں کو دیکھ کر وہ فوراً مسکرا دیے۔

جہیز سامان نہیں ہوتا… یہ تو ماں باپ کی دعاؤں کا نام ہے۔ اور تمہارے ماں باپ کی دعا
