یہ بتاؤ تمہیں پسینہ کیوں آ رہا ہے ارمان نے اسکے ماتھے کی طرف اشارہ کر ہوئے کہا
۔زویا نے بے اختیار اپنے ماتھے کو ہاتھ سے چھوا… اور پھر شرمندہ ہوئی۔
گرمی
ہے..( مطلب مادام کی زبان ہے ارمان نے سوچا)
ارمان
نے کھڑکی کی طرف دیکھا، پھر واپس اسے۔
"سردیوں
میں؟ واقعی؟ارمان نے مسکراہٹ دبا کر سنجیدگی سے پوچھا..
زویا
بالکل خاموش۔"چلو مان لیا… گرمی ہے۔ایک لمحہ رکا… پھر ہلکی سی شرارت کے ساتھ—"لیکن
وجہ میں تو نہیں ہوں نا؟زویا کا دل جیسے ایک لمحے کو رک گیا۔
"ن…
نہیں۔جواب کچھ زیادہ ہی جلدی آ گیا۔ارمان کےہونٹوں پر مسکراہٹ گہری ہو گئی۔ارمان اب
بھی اس کے پاؤں کو اپنے گھٹنوں پر رکھے، آہستہ آہستہ دیکھ رہا۔تھا۔پھر اس نے بہت نرمی
سے اس کا پاؤں چھوڑا… مگر ہاتھ ابھی بھی قریب ہی تھا۔
"درد
کم ہوا؟زویا نے ہلکا سا سر ہلایا۔ا
درد کم ہوا تھا یا
نہیں لیکن ابھی اور اس انسان کو برداشت کرنا نہیں چاہتی تھی ۔وہ مطمئن
ہو کر اٹھنے لگا… مگر جاتے جاتے رک گیا۔
پھر
اچانک اس کی طرف دیکھ کر بولا۔"ویسے…زویا نے سوالیہ نظروں سے دیکھا۔
"اگر
تم ایسے ہی میرے سامنے آتی رہیں… گھبراتی ہوئی، لڑکھڑاتی ہوئی…وہ ہلکا سا جھکا، اس
کی آنکھوں میں دیکھتے ہوئے—"تو مجھے بار بار تمہارے قدموں میں بیٹھنے کی عادت
ہو جائے گی۔زویا جیسے سانس لینا بھول گئی۔وہ کچھ کہہ نہ سکی۔ارمان سیدھا ہوا، ہلکی
سی مسکراہٹ کے ساتھ"Careful
رہو۔"اور مڑ گیا۔

رہ گئی زویا…جس کے پاؤں کا درد اب کہیں پیچھے رہ گیا تھااور دل کی دھڑکن… پہلے سے کہیں
