"یوسف!
ادھر آؤ میرے پاس۔" ایک شام جب یوسف پاشا دفتر سے تھکے ہارے لوٹے، تو لاؤنج میں
بیٹھے دادا نور الدین نے اپنی لاٹھی فرش پر مارتے ہوئے انہیں پکارا۔
یوسف
پاشا نے اپنے بریف کیس کو صوفے پر رکھا اور ان کے پاس بیٹھ گئے۔ "جی ابا جان،
خیریت؟ آپ کی طبعیت تو ٹھیک ہے؟"
دادا
نور الدین نے اپنی دھندلی اور شکی آنکھوں سے چاروں طرف دیکھا، پھر اپنی آواز کو دھیما
کر کے بولے، "کیا خاک خیریت ہے؟ یہ جو تمہاری بیوی ہے نا، شبنم۔۔۔ یہ نیک بخت
عورت نہیں ہے۔ آج دوپہر جب تم نہیں تھے، اس نے مجھے کمرے میں پانی دینے کے بہانے زور
سے دھکا دیا تھا۔ میں تو گرتے گرتے بچا ہوں! یہ چاہتی ہے کہ میں اس دنیا سے اٹھ جاؤں
تاکہ یہ راج کرے اس گھر پر۔"
یہ
ایک صریح اور سفید جھوٹ تھا، جو ان کے بیمار ذہن کی اختراع تھی، مگر یوسف پاشا کے لیے
ان کے والد کا ہر لفظ ایک الہامی سچائی کی حیثیت رکھتا تھا۔ وہ اپنے باپ کی پولیس والی
مروجہ ساکھ کے اتنے اسیر تھے کہ انہوں نے کبھی یہ سوچنے کی زحمت ہی نہیں کی کہ بوڑھے
باپ کا دماغ اب ان کا ساتھ نہیں دے رہا۔
"کیا
کہہ رہے ہیں آپ ابا؟" یوسف پاشا کا خون ایک دم کھول اٹھا۔
"میں
جھوٹ بولوں گا اس عمر میں؟" دادا نور الدین نے مظلومیت کا لبادہ اوڑھتے ہوئے کہا۔
"تمہاری چوتھی بیٹی پیدا ہوئی ہے نہ، اس کا غصہ یہ مجھ بوڑھے پر نکال رہی ہے۔
کل رات میں نے اسے الماری کے پاس بھی دیکھا تھا، شاید تمہارے پیسے چوری کر رہی تھی
اور جب میں نے ٹوکا تو مجھے آنکھیں دکھا کر بھاگ گئی۔"
