"بیٹا،
تم لوگ کون ہو؟ رشتہ کیا ہے؟"
عنایت
کے حلق میں الفاظ پھنس گئے۔
اس
نے نظریں جھکا لیں۔ "ہم… ہم نامحرم ہیں۔"
گاؤں
کی فضا ایک لمحے کو بدل گئی۔
یہاں
کے لوگوں کے لیے عزت سب سے بڑی تھی۔ وہ روائیتی قسم کے سادہ لوگ تھے اور لڑکا لڑکی
کا ساتھ ہونا صرف میاں بیوی ہونے کو ہی مانتے تھے۔
بزرگ
نے لمبی داڑھی پر ہاتھ پھیرا اور بولے:
"یہاں
رات کو نامحرم کا اکٹھے رہنا گناہ ہے۔ یا تو الگ الگ رہو، یا نکاح کر لو۔"
یہ
بات سن کر وہ اجنبی آگے بڑھا اور ساری صورتِ حال بتاتے ہوئے گاؤں والوں سے کہا۔
"
میں انہیں نہیں جانتا ہم دونوں ایک دوسرے کے لیے بلکل اجنبی ہیں۔ جب میں نے ان کو اکیلا
اور پریشان دیکھا تو ان کی مدد کرنے کا سوچا۔ ان کو باحفاظت ان کی منزل تک پہنچانا
میری زمہ داری ہے۔"
آپ
مہربانی فرما کر صرف آج رات کے لیے ہمیں پناہ دے دیجیے۔ اندھیرے کی وجہ سے راستہ تلاش
کرنے میں دقت ہے۔ ہم صبح ہوتے ہی یہاں سے چلے جائیں گے۔
اجنبی
کی بات سن کر بزرگ نے کہا۔ بیٹا ہم آپ کی مجبوری کو سمجھتے ہیں لیکن اپنے اصولوں سے
پیچھے نہیں ہٹ سکتے۔ اگر یہاں رہنا ہے تو نکاح کرنا ہو گا۔
عنایت
کا دل ڈوب گیا۔
اس
نے لڑکے کی طرف دیکھا۔ وہ پُر سوچ نظروں سے عنایت کی طرف دیکھ رہا تھا۔ آنکھوں میں
کوئی لالچ نہیں تھاصرف ایک خاموش ذمہ داری تھی۔
کچھ
لمحے بعد وہ آہستہ سے بولا:
"اگر
آپ کو اعتراض نہ ہو تو… میں تیار ہوں۔ بس آپ کی عزت محفوظ رہے۔"
عنایت
نے بے بسی سے سر ہلا دیا۔
گاؤں
والے فوراً مان گئے۔ مسجد کے امام کو بلایا گیا۔
کمرے
میں دیے کی ہلکی روشنی تھی، قالین پر چادر بچھی تھی، اور ہوا میں عطر کی ہلکی سی خوشبو
تھی۔
نکاح
کے وقت عنایت نے پردے کے پیچھے سے ولی کا چہرہ دیکھا۔
مردانہ
وجاہت سے بھرپور ایسا چہرہ جو بھروسے والا لگتا تھا۔
اس
نے دل میں نام یاد کر لیا: ولی حیدر۔
ولی
نے اسے نہیں دیکھا۔
قاضی
نے کہا، "لڑکی پردے میں ہے، اس کی رضامندی موجود ہے۔"
