ہرقدم پر مجھے پاؤ گے' ہر آواز میں میرا ساز سنوگے''

یہ آواز- پھر سے نہیں-

" یہ آوازیں میرا پیچھا کیوں نہیں چھوڑتیں" لڑکے نے کانوں پر ہا تھ رکھتے ہوئے کہاـ وہ حلق کے بل چلا رہا تھاـ

"میرا پیچھا چھوڑ دو"

اس کی آنکھوں سے اذیت جھلک رہی تھی ـ اس نے ان آوازوں کا گلا گھونٹنے کیلئے اپنے کانوں پر ہاتھ رکھ لیا- مگر وہ آوازیں نہیں رک رہی تھیں ـ ابھی بھی واضح سنائی دے رہیں تھیں-

"بھاگو! تم تو بھاگ رہے تھے میں تمہارے پیچھے ہوں؛ میں تمہارے سایے کی طرح تمہارے ساتھ ہوں تم جدھر جاؤگے میں وہاں ضرور ہوں گاـ"

یہ آوازیں اس کو پاگل کر رہیں تھیں اور وہ پاگل ہو رہاتھاـ یہ آوازیں اس کو قطرہ قطرہ مارر ہی تھیں اور وہ مر رہا تھاـ اس نے اب ہاتھوں کو کان سے اٹھایاـ اس نے پھر بھاگنا شروع کردیا۔ کہیں تو یہ آواز جان چھوڑ دے گی ـ کہیں تو-کوئی جگہ تو ہوگی نا؟

وہ اب پھر دیوانہ وار بھاگ رہا تھا- اس کے ہاتھوں اور پاؤں پر کانٹوں سے' جھاڑیوں سے الجھنے کی وجہ سے خراشیں آرہیں تھیں ـ خوف کی وہ کیفیت دیکھی ہے کہ کسی نظر نہ آنے والے وجود نے آپ کا نشانہ باندھا ہوا ہے اور وہ کبھی بھی حملہ کر کے جان لینے کی تیاری میں ہے- یوں جیسے زندگی اس کا حق نہیں ۔لڑکے کو یہی محسوس ہو رہا تھا-

اچانک اس کا پاؤں ایک جھاڑی سے الجھا- اور وہ منہ کے بل نیچے گر پڑا- وہ مشکل  سے اٹھا- اس کو ایک عجیب سی آواز محسوس ہوئی- اس نے دائیں طرف دیکھا تو ایک سانپ پھن پھیلائے ہوئے تھا-
