 "وہ آ گیا ہے! سبحان! وہ مجھے پھر لے جائے گا!"

"لائیلا! بیٹا!"

سمیر نے اُسے بازوؤں میں لیا،

اور تھپتھپاتے ہوئے کہا:

"نہیں… بیٹا… کوئی نہیں آئے گا… میں ہوں یہاں… تمہارے ساتھ…

ارسل اور زارا کے چہرے زرد ہو چکے تھے —

یہ صدمہ اب اندر سے لائیلا کو کھوکھلا کر رہا تھا۔

کمرے میں اندھیرا نہیں تھا،

مگر لائیلا کی آنکھوں میں روشنی باقی نہ رہی تھی۔

وہ کھڑکی کے پاس بیٹھی،

اپنی بانہوں کو اپنے وجود کے گرد لپیٹے،

کبھی دروازے کو گھورتی،

کبھی چھت کو جیسے وہاں سے کوئی جھانک رہا ہو۔

لائیلا اب حقیقت اور خواب میں فرق نہ کر پا رہی تھی۔

اسے بار بار لگتا جیسے دروازہ کھلنے ہی والا ہے —

"وہ آ رہا ہے..."

ہوا چلتی تو پردہ ہلتا —

وہ سہم جاتی۔

قدموں کی چاپ تو دور کی بات،

کسی سانس کی آہٹ پر بھی لرز جاتی۔

یہ “پی ٹی ایس ڈی” تھا۔

ایسا ذہنی صدمہ جس نے

نہ صرف لائیلا کا سکون چھینا،

بلکہ اس کی دنیا کی پہچان بھی دھندلا دی۔

وہ ہر وقت hypervigilant تھی —

ہمیشہ چوکنی، جیسے ہر لمحہ کوئی خطرہ منڈلا رہا ہو۔

ہر چھوٹا سا شور —

دروازے کی چرچراہٹ،

کسی چیز کے گرنے کی آواز —

اس کے لیے جیسے قیامت ہو۔

"بھائی... وہ آ رہا ہے... مجھے بچا لو..."

اس کی دھیمی سرگوشیاں

اب بھی خاموشیوں کو چیرتی تھیں۔

زارا، سیمیر اور ارسل بے بسی سے ایک دوسرے کو دیکھتے،

کوئی کچھ نہ کہتا،

صرف دعائیں اور آنسو…

یہی ان کا سہارا تھا۔

 اس کا دل اور دماغ اب بھی قید تھے…

وہ بظاہر گھر میں تھی،

مگر دل ابھی بھی اس حویلی میں قید تھا۔

وہ بستر پر تھی،

مگر روح اب بھی رسیوں سے بندھی ہوئی محسوس کرتی تھی۔

وہ آزاد تھی،

مگر یقین ابھی بھی قید میں تھا۔
