"ریاضی میں دوسری
بار بھی ناکام...؟" رشتہ داروں کے زہریلے اور تیکھے جملے اس کے ذہن میں
ہتھوڑوں کی طرح برس رہے تھے۔
"ہنزہ کی اتنی باحیا، نمازی اور ذہین
لڑکی، اور دو سال سے ایک مضمون پاس نہیں کر پا رہی؟ اب پڑھائی چھوڑو اور اس کی
شادی کر دو!"
عنائزہ نے اپنے کانوں
پر ہاتھ رکھ لیے، اس کے دل سے ایک ہُوک اٹھی۔ اس نے اپنے تمام کتابچے سمیٹ کر ایک
طرف پھینکے اور گھٹن کے احساس سے باہر وسیع و عریض صحن میں نکل آئی۔ ہنزہ کی
برفانی ہوائیں اس کے چہرے کو چھو کر گزریں، لیکن اس کے اندر لگی ناکامی کی آگ
ٹھنڈی نہ ہو سکی۔
"عنائزہ..."
ایک نرم اور شفقت بھری آواز پر اس نے مڑ کر دیکھا۔ اس
کے والد طارق شاہ، جن کے چہرے پر ہنزہ کے پہاڑوں جیسا وقار اور متانت تھی، اس کے
قریب آ کر کھڑے ہو گئے۔
"بابا! میں ہار
گئی۔ میں آپ کے سر کا فخر بننا چاہتی تھی، لیکن میں ایک ناکام لڑکی بن گئی... لوگ کہتے
ہیں کہ نمازی لڑکی کا پڑھائی میں کیا کام..." اس کا گلا رُندھ گیا اور آنسو
گالوں پر بہ نکلے۔
والد نے اس کے سر پر
شفقت سے ہاتھ رکھا اور مسکرا دیے۔
"ناکام وہ ہوتا ہے جو کوشش چھوڑ دے،
میری بیٹی۔ اگر ریاضی کے اعداد تمہاری زبان نہیں بولتے، تو اس کا مطلب یہ نہیں کہ
تمہاری اپنی کوئی زبان نہیں ہے۔ تم نے کبھی اپنے ہاتھ سے بنے خاکوں کو دیکھا ہے؟
تم اعداد کے لیے نہیں، رنگوں اور نقش و نگار کے لیے بنی ہو۔ اور حیا تمہارا زیور
ہے، تمہاری کمزوری نہیں۔"
انہی دنوں کی تنہائی
اور صدمے کے دوران، عنائزہ نے اپنے جائے نماز پر بیٹھ کر زار و قطار روتے ہوئے اپنے
رب سے لو لگائی۔ اس نے قرآنِ پاک کا ترجمہ اور بالخصوص سورۃ النور کو گہرائی سے
پڑھنا اور اپنے دل میں اتارنا شروع کیا۔
وَقُل
لِّلْمُؤْمِنَاتِ يَغْضُضْنَ مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِنَّ وَيَحْفَظْنَ فُرُوجَهُنَّ...
"اور مومن عورتوں سے کہہ دو کہ وہ اپنی
نگاہیں نیچی رکھیں اور اپنی شرمگاہوں کی حفاظت کریں..."
(سورۃ النور: ۳۱)
