انسان کی زندگی کتنی چھوٹی ہوتی ہے، مگر ہم اسے اپنے برے رویوں سے برباد کر دیتے ہیں۔
میں آپ کو موٹی بھینس اور نہ جانے کن کن برے القابات سے بلاتی تھی، اور آج مجھے سب
بدشکل کہتے ہیں۔
بات یہ نہیں ہے کہ میرے ساتھ کیا ہو رہا ہے، بات
یہ ہے کہ میں نے آپ کے ساتھ برا کیا۔ آپ کو عزت نہیں دی، آپ کی اولاد کو، آپ کے
گھر والوں کو اور نہ جانے کس دنیا میں رہتی تھی۔"

اپنے آنسو صاف کر رہی تھی اور نظریں جھکا کر بیٹھی تھی۔ پھر دھیمی آواز میں بولی:
"میں ہر وقت اپنے کپڑوں، جوتوں، اسٹائلش اور مہنگے پرس اور باہر کے کھانوں سے
ہی باہر نہیں نکلتی تھی۔ اور آج ان سب چیزوں نے میرا ساتھ چھوڑ دیا ہے۔
وقت بہت عجیب ہے، یہ سب حقیقت واضح کر دیتا ہے۔
میں نے سدرہ آپی کے بچوں کو اپنے کمرے میں گھسنے نہیں دیا، اور آج تک گھر میں بچوں
کی آواز تک نہیں گونجی۔
ہاں، مگر اللہ بہت مہربان ہے۔ اس نے کبھی مجھے دولت یا جبران میر کے پیار کی کمی محسوس نہیں ہونے دی، مگر میرے اعمال میرے سامنے آ گئے ہیں۔ کاش انسان کو پہلے ہی پتا چل جائے کہ اس کے ساتھ آگے کیا ہونے والا ہے، تو وہ کبھی اپنی حد سے نہ بڑھے۔"
