" چاچا جی! صبح اپنے ساتھ ہی کھانا لے کر
کیوں نہیں جاتے ۔ روز مجھے جانا پڑتا ہے اوپر سے گرمی بھی اتنی زیادہ ہو گئی ہے
۔" اس نے سائیکل پر بیٹھتے ہوئے سوچا ۔ پیڈل پر پاؤں مارنے سے پہلے اس نے اپنے
عقب میں پڑے ٹفن پر ہاتھ مار کر یہ تسلی کی کہ ٹفن نہ صرف اپنی جگہ موجود ہے بلکہ جمپ
لگنے کی صورت میں اپنی جگہ سے نہیں ہلے گا ۔ اللہ کا نام لے کر اس نے سائیکل آگے بڑھا
دی ۔
ہزاروں لاکھوں نوجوانوں کی طرح وہ بھی ایک عام
سا ہی نوجوان تھا ۔ اس کی شخصیت میں ایسا کچھ بھی نہیں تھا جو اسے خاص بناتا مگر ہر
شخص کی زندگی میں ایسا وقت ضرور آتا ہے جب وہ اپنے آپ کو خاص ۔۔۔ بہت خاص تصور کرنے
لگتا ہے اور سانول کی زندگی میں بھی وہ وقت آن پہنچا تھا ۔ اس کو اپنی اہمیت کا احساس
دلانے والا آج کوئی اس کا منتظر تھا ۔
وہ سائیکل چلاتا ۔۔۔ جھومتا اور گنگناتا ہوا
اپنی مستی میں جا رہا تھا جب ریلوے اسٹیشن کے عقب میں موجود مارکیٹ کے ایک رہائشی مکان
کی دوسری منزل سے کوئی چیز اس کے سامنے گری ۔ اس نے یکدم بریک کھینچ کر سائیکل روک
دی اور اوپر دیکھا ۔ کھڑکی کھلی تھی مگر اس میں کوئی موجود نہیں تھا ۔ غالباً کچھ کھا
کر بےدھیانی میں نیچے پھینکا گیا تھا کیونکہ نیچے گرنے والے شاپر میں مختلف اقسام کے
پھلوں کے چھلکے اور بھی بہت کچھ الم غلم تھا ۔
" شکر ہے میں تھوڑا آگے نہیں تھا ورنہ یہ
گند بلا میرے اوپر آ گرتا اور میرے صاف کپڑے خراب ہو جاتے ۔" سانول نے آگے بڑھنے
سے پہلے ناگواری سے اس شاپر کی طرف دیکھا جو ابھی چند لمحے پہلے اس کے سامنے گرا تھا
اور بڑبڑاتے ہوئے آگے بڑھ گیا ۔
