پہلے
پہل اس کا دل نمازوں میں نہیں لگتا تھا، پھر آہستہ آہستہ نمازیں بوجھ بننے لگیں اور
پھر ایک وقت ایسا آیا کہ وہ حنین کی ایک کال کے لیے اپنی نماز قضا کر دیتی۔ اسے یاد
تھا وہ دن جب حنین نے اس سے کہا تھا:
'نور! تم ہر وقت یہ دین کی باتیں کیوں لے آتی ہو؟ کیا میری محبت کافی نہیں ہے تمہارے لیے؟'
اور
نور نے نادانی میں اپنے رب کے احکامات کے مقابلے میں حنین کی 'محبت' کو چن لیا تھا۔
وہ اپنے پردے میں سستی کرنے لگی، اس کی حیا پر حنین کی پسند غالب آنے لگی۔ وہ اللہ
سے دور ہوتی گئی، اور اسے لگا کہ وہ حنین کے قریب ہو رہی ہے۔
پھر
وہ دن آیا جس نے اس کا غرور خاک میں ملا دیا۔
ایک
سال پہلے کی اس بارش والی دوپہر، جب نور نے حنین کو شادی کی بات کرنے کے لیے بلایا
تھا، حنین کے چہرے پر وہ پرانی مسکراہٹ نہیں تھی۔ اس نے بڑی بے رخی سے نور کی طرف دیکھا
اور کہا:
'شادی؟
نور، تم مذاق تو نہیں کر رہی؟ میں نے تم سے کبھی کوئی وعدہ نہیں کیا تھا۔ تم ایک بور
اور جذباتی لڑکی ہو، میں تمہارے ساتھ اپنی لائف برباد نہیں کر سکتا۔ میری منگنی میری
کزن سے ہو رہی ہے، وہ ماڈرن ہے اور میری سوسائٹی کو سمجھتی ہے۔'
اس
نے تڑپ کر پوچھا، 'حنین! اور وہ باتیں؟ وہ وعدے؟ وہ سب کیا تھا؟'
حنین
نے گاڑی کا دروازہ بند کرتے ہوئے سرد مہری سے جواب دیا، 'وہ صرف ٹائم پاس تھا نور!
سیریس کیوں ہو گئی تھیں؟'
