رات
کے پہر مہک اپنے کمرے کی کھڑکی کے پاس کھڑی
شیشے پر اپنی آنکھوں کا بنتا ہوا عکس دیکھ رہی تھی ۔موسم میں کچھ تبدیلی آئی ہوئی تھی
۔کھڑکی کے شیشے پر ہلکی ہلکی دھند جمع تھی
۔وہ اپنی انگلیوں کی پوروں سے دھند ہٹا رہی تھی ۔کھڑکی کے پار اسے دنیا دھند میں لپٹی نظر آرہی تھی ۔
''کاش
اس دھند کے پار تم ہوتے فارس ۔۔۔۔!یا اللہ ! میرا نصیب بہتر لکھ اور میرے ہاتھوں کی
لکیروں پر بس صرف فارس حیات کا نام ہو۔۔۔۔۔''
وہ
خدا سے ہم کلام تھی ۔ویسے تو بہت لاپرواہ تھی مگر فارس کو لے کر بہت سنجیدہ تھی۔اکثر
اوقات اسے فارس کا بار بار اجنبی ہوجانا ستاتا تھا ۔فارس میں آہستہ آہستہ پہلے والی
اپنائیت ختم ہورہی تھی ۔وہ دور سڑک پر تنہا جلتی ہوئیں سٹریٹ لائٹس کو دیکھ رہی تھی
جو کہ رات کے سناٹے میں لرزتی ہوئی محسوس ہورہی تھیں ۔مہک کو ان روشنیوں کے نیچے فارس
کا ہیولا محسوس ہورہا تھا ۔وہ ہر جگہ فارس کو محسوس کرتی تھی ۔
''فارس کیا تم بھی میری طرح اپنے کمرے کی کھڑکی سے ان اداس ستاروں کو تک رہے ہو؟یا تم مجھے بےچین کرکے
خود سکون کی نیند سو رہے ہو ۔''
وہ
اپنی ہی خیالی دنیا میں فارس سے مخاطب تھی ۔خاموش رات میں نیچے گارڈز کے قدموں کی آوازیں
مہک کے دل پر ہٹھوروں کی طرح لگ رہی تھیں ۔
