“ابھی
تک جاگ رہی ہے؟”
انہوں
نے دھیرے سے خود سے کہا۔
وہ
آہستہ آہستہ اس کے کمرے کی طرف آئیں۔
دروازہ
پورا بند نہیں تھا۔
انہوں
نے ہلکا سا دھکا دیا۔
“عبیر…؟”
ان
کی نرم آواز پر عبیر چونکی تھی۔
اس
نے فوراً اپنا چہرہ دوسری طرف کر لیا۔
چچی
چند قدم آگے بڑھیں۔
“بیٹا…
سوئی نہیں ابھی تک؟”
عبیر
نے جلدی سے اپنی آنکھیں صاف کیں۔
“بس…
نیند نہیں آ رہی تھی…”
مگر
چچی کی نظر اس کے چہرے پر پڑ چکی تھی۔
سرخ
آنکھیں…
کانپتے
ہونٹ…
اور
چہرے پر چھپایا ہوا درد۔
وہ
فوراً اس کے قریب بیٹھ گئیں۔
“عبیر…”
انہوں
نے پریشانی سے اس کا چہرہ اپنی طرف کیا۔
“تم
رو رہی ہو؟”
عبیر
نے فوراً نفی میں سر ہلایا۔
“نہیں
چچی… کچھ بھی تو نہیں…”
“جھوٹ
مت بولو مجھے۔”
چچی
کی آواز میں شفقت بھی تھی اور فکر بھی۔
“کیا
ہوا ہے؟ کسی نے کچھ کہا ہے؟”
یہ
سنتے ہی عبیر کی پلکیں جھک گئیں۔
وہ
چند لمحے خاموش رہی…
جیسے
لفظ ڈھونڈ رہی ہو
پھر
آہستہ سے بولی،
“چچی…
کبھی کبھی انسان صحیح فیصلہ کر کے بھی خوش کیوں نہیں رہ پاتا…؟”
چچی
نے غور سے اسے دیکھا۔
اب
انہیں اندازہ ہو رہا تھا کہ بات صرف تھکن کی نہیں تھی…
اس
کے دل میں واقعی کچھ ٹوٹ رہا تھا۔
انہوں
نے نرمی سے اس کے سر پر ہاتھ پھیرا۔
“بات
کیا ہے عبیر؟ صاف صاف بتاؤ مجھے…”
یہ
سنتے ہی عبیر کی آنکھوں سے آنسو بہہ نکلے۔
وہ
فوراً چچی کے گلے لگ گئی۔
“میں
بہت کوشش کر رہی ہوں خود کو مضبوط رکھنے کی…”
اس
کی آواز ٹوٹ رہی تھی۔
“مگر
پتہ نہیں کیوں… دل مان ہی نہیں رہا…”
چچی
چند لمحے خاموش رہیں…
وہ
صرف اس کے بالوں پر ہاتھ پھیرتی رہیں تاکہ وہ خود کو سنبھال سکے۔
عبیر
نے آنکھیں بند کیے دھیمی آواز میں کہا،
“میں
نے آج ادم کو سب بتا دیا…”
چچی
نے ہلکا سا چونک کر اسے دیکھا۔
“کیا
بتایا؟”
عبیر
نے مشکل سے خود کو سنبھالا۔
“کہ…
عاشر نے مجھے پروپوز کیا ہے…”
کمرے
میں چند لمحوں کے لیے خاموشی چھا گئی۔
عبیر
کی نظریں اب بھی جھکی ہوئی تھیں۔
“مجھے
لگا تھا…”
وہ
رک گئی۔
چچی
نے نرمی سے پوچھا،
“کیا
لگا تھا بیٹا؟”
عبیر
کی آنکھوں سے پھر آنسو نکل آئے۔
“مجھے
لگا تھا انہیں فرق پڑے گا…”
