“آپ زندہ ہیں؟”
زہرہ کی آواز ٹوٹ گئی۔
“نہیں، بیٹی۔ میں مری بھی نہیں… زندہ بھی نہیں۔ میں بندش ہوں۔”
حورین سمجھ نہ سکی۔
زُمیان کا چہرہ بدل گیا۔
“زہرہ…”
زہرہ نے پہلی بار زُمیان کو دیکھا۔
اس کی آنکھوں میں خوف بھی تھا، دکھ بھی، اور ایک پرانا اعتبار بھی۔
“تم پھر اسی راستے پر آ گئے، زُمیان۔”
زُمیان نے سر جھکا لیا۔
“اس بار میں اسے کھونے نہیں آیا۔”
زہرہ نے حورین کی طرف دیکھا۔
“اور اگر اسے بچانے کے لیے تمہیں اسے چھوڑنا پڑے؟”
زُمیان ساکت ہو گیا۔
یہ سوال تلوار تھا۔
اس نے حورین کی طرف دیکھا۔
حورین نے بھی اسے دیکھا۔
دونوں کے درمیان خاموشی آ گئی۔
مارِس ہنسا۔
“یہی تو آخری کھیل ہے۔”
کنویں کا پانی سیاہ ہو گیا۔
مارِس نے صارم کے جسم سے ہاتھ اٹھایا۔
“حورین کی جان ایک دھاگے سے بندھی ہے۔ زہرہ نے اسے بچپن میں مرنے سے بچانے کے لیے آدھی روح اپنے اندر رکھی تھی۔”
حورین پیچھے ہٹ گئی۔
“کیا مطلب؟”
زہرہ کی آنکھوں سے روشنی بہنے لگی۔
“جب تم پیدا ہوئی تھیں، مارِس تمہیں لے جانے آیا تھا۔ تمہاری سانس کمزور تھی۔ میں نے تمہیں بچانے کے لیے اپنی روح کا حصہ تم میں رکھا… اور باقی اس کنویں میں باندھ دیا۔”
حورین کے ہونٹ کانپے۔
“تو میں… مکمل زندہ نہیں ہوں؟”
زہرہ نے درد سے کہا:
“تم زندہ ہو، بیٹی۔ مگر تمہاری روح کا آخری حصہ یہاں قید ہے۔”
مارِس نے سرگوشی کی:
“اور آج وہ حصہ آزاد ہو گا۔ مگر قیمت لگے گی۔”
زُمیان نے گرج کر کہا:
“قیمت مجھ سے لو۔”
حورین نے فوراً اس کی طرف دیکھا۔
“نہیں!”
زُمیان کی آواز سخت ہو گئی۔
“حورین، اس بار بحث نہیں۔”
حورین نے اس کا ہاتھ پکڑ لیا۔
“تم نے کہا تھا ساتھ چلیں گے۔ میرے لیے مرنے کا فیصلہ اکیلے نہیں کرو گے۔”
زُمیان کی آنکھوں میں درد پھیل گیا۔
“میں مرنے سے نہیں ڈرتا۔”
حورین نے کہا:
“میں ڈرتی ہوں۔”
یہ سن کر زُمیان خاموش ہو گیا۔
مارِس نے تالی بجائی۔
“واہ۔ محبت، قربانی، وعدے… مگر سچ ابھی باقی ہے۔”
کنواں پھٹنے لگا۔
اس
کے اندر سے ایک سیاہ دروازہ کھلا۔
