"سارہ تم رو رہی ہو؟ یار تم 19 سال کی ہو، کونسی چھوٹی بچی ہو جو شادی کے نام پر رو رہی ہو؟"
وہ بس جونید کو دیکھ رہی تھی... کہ یہ کتنی آسانی سے کہہ رہا ہے "رونے والی کونسی بات"۔ اس نے کوئی جواب نہیں دیا۔
تبھی جونید نے اس کو بتایا: "دسمبر میں ہماری شادی ہے۔ پتہ نہیں ابو نے چاچو کو 6 ماہ کیوں دے دیے۔"
سارہ کے آنسوؤں کی روانی تیز ہو گئی اور وہ فریاد کر بیٹھی: "میں شادی نہیں کرنا چاہتی جونید۔"
اس کی بات سن کر جونید ہنسنے لگا: "شادی نہیں کرنا چاہتی؟ پر کیوں؟"
سارہ نے جواب دیا: "میں پڑھنا چاہتی ہوں۔ کچھ بننا چاہتی ہوں۔ اپنے پاؤں پر کھڑا ہونا چاہتی ہوں۔ مجھے تائی امی اور امی جیسی زندگی نہیں گزارنی۔"
ابھی
اس کی بات مکمل نہیں ہوئی تھی کہ جونید نے چیخ کر بولا: "بس، بہت ہوئی بکواس!
یہی نتیجہ ہے تمہاری پڑھائی کا۔ تم امی اور چاچی جیسی زندگی نہیں گزارنا چاہتی؟ تمہارا
دماغ خراب ہو گیا ہے۔ صحیح کہتے تھے ابو، پڑھائی نے تمہیں پاگل کر دیا ہے۔"
