"کیا کبھی ہم بھی کسی کی زندگی میں اتنا اثر چھوڑ سکیں گے؟" دوسرے نے مسکرا کر جواب دیا، "اثر چھوڑنے کے لیے مشہور ہونا ضروری نہیں، کبھی ایک اچھا لفظ بھی کسی کی پوری سوچ بدل دیتا ہے۔" یہ بات سن کر سب خاموش ہو گئے، کیونکہ وہ جان چکے تھے کہ انسان کی اصل طاقت اس کے اختیار میں نہیں بلکہ اس کے کردار میں ہوتی ہے۔
اسی دن مطالعہ گاہ میں ایک مختصر سا پروگرام منعقد کیا گیا۔ نئے آنے والے بچوں نے اپنے خواب بیان کیے۔ کسی نے ڈاکٹر بننے کی خواہش ظاہر کی، کسی نے استاد بننے کی، کسی نے لکھاری بننے کی۔ ایک بچی نے کہا، "میں چاہتی ہوں کہ میں بڑی ہو کر لوگوں کی مدد کروں۔" اس کے الفاظ سن کر وہاں موجود سب کے چہروں پر مسکراہٹ پھیل گئی، کیونکہ یہی تو اس زنجیر کی اصل کامیابی تھی؛ ایک سوچ کا نئی نسل تک پہنچ جانا۔
شام کے وقت نگراں کمرۂ امانت میں گئے۔ انہوں نے پروفیسر عبدالوحید کی ڈائری کھولی۔ آخری صفحات میں ایک جملہ لکھا تھا: "اگر میرے بعد کوئی شخص کسی دوسرے انسان کے لیے آسانی بن گیا، تو سمجھنا میرا سفر کامیاب ہو گیا۔" نگراں نے وہ جملہ پڑھا اور آہستہ سے ڈائری بند کر دی۔ ان کے دل میں ایک گہرا سکون تھا، کیونکہ اب انہیں یقین تھا کہ یہ سفر محفوظ ہاتھوں میں ہے۔
رات کو جامن کے درخت کے نیچے چند نوجوان بیٹھے تھے۔
چاندنی چاروں طرف پھیلی ہوئی تھی۔ ایک نے کہا، "کتنی عجیب بات ہے، ایک چھوٹی
سی کوشش اتنا بڑا سفر بن گئی۔" ایک بزرگ نے مسکرا کر جواب دیا، "کیونکہ
اچھی چیزوں کی یہی خاصیت ہوتی ہے، وہ خود سے آگے بڑھتی رہتی ہیں۔" ہوا چلی،
درخت کے پتے سرسرائے، اور ایسا محسوس ہوا جیسے وہ بھی اس بات کی گواہی دے رہے ہوں
کہ کچھ کہانیاں صرف پڑھی نہیں جاتیں، انہیں جیا جاتا ہے۔
