"وطن کی مٹی صرف
زمین کا ٹکڑا نہیں ہوتی، یہ اُن شہیدوں کی مقدس امانت ہے جنہوں نے اپنی سانسوں کا
خراج دے کر اس کے ایک ایک انچ کو محفوظ بنایا ہے۔"
وہ ایک لمحے کے لیے رکیں، ان
کی نظریں سامنے کھڑے غازیوں کے چہروں پر ٹک گئیں۔
"آج یہاں موجود ہر
سپاہی صرف ایک وردی نہیں پہنے ہوئے، بلکہ اپنے سینے پر پوری قوم کا اعتماد اور
اپنے کندھوں پر وطن کی عزت اٹھائے کھڑا ہے۔ یاد رکھیں! ! تاریخ اُن لوگوں کو کبھی
یاد نہیں رکھتی جو آسان راستے چنتے ہیں، تاریخ ہمیشہ اُن جانبازوں کے نام سنہری
حروف میں لکھتی ہے جو طوفانوں کا رخ موڑ کر ناممکن کو ممکن بنا دیتے ہیں۔"
ہال میں موجود نوجوان افسران
کے چہروں پر عزم کی لہر دوڑ گئی۔ میجر جنرل نگار فاطمہ کا لہجہ اب مزید پرجوش ہو
چکا تھا:
"تمہاری رگوں میں دوڑنے
والا خون عام نہیں، یہ اُس قوم کے محافظوں کا خون ہے جو سر کٹا تو سکتی ہے، مگر
اپنے وطن کا پرچم کبھی سرنگوں نہیں ہونے دیتی۔ سرحدوں کی حفاظت صرف ہتھیار نہیں
کرتے، ہتھیاروں کے پیچھے کھڑے وہ بہادر دل کرتے ہیں جو اپنی زندگی کی خوشیوں سے
پہلے پاکستان کا نام رکھتے ہیں۔ جب تم مورچوں پر جاگتے ہو، تب کروڑوں لوگ سکون کی
نیند سوتے ہیں، کیونکہ تم میں سے ہر ایک سپاہی ایک پوری قوم کی امید ہے۔"
انہوں نے اپنا دایاں ہاتھ
اٹھایا، آواز میں ایک سحر انگیز فخر تھا:
"شہادت ہمارا خوف نہیں،
ہمارا سب سے بڑا فخر ہے۔ کیونکہ جو وطن کے لیے جیتے ہیں، وہ تاریخ بناتے ہیں، اور
جو وطن کے لیے مرتے ہیں... وہ امر ہو جاتے ہیں۔ اور اگر کبھی زندگی کے کسی موڑ پر
انتخاب کرنا پڑ جائے اپنی جان اور اپنے وطن کے درمیان، تو میری ایک بات ہمیشہ یاد
رکھنا... سپاہی کی سانس تو رک سکتی ہے، مگر اس کی وفاداری کبھی نہیں!"
