کی روشنیوں کے پیچھے، لاکھوں نظریں اور کئی ممالک کے ایمبیسڈر اس کی طرف دیکھ رہے تھے۔
وہ
سانس لینے کے بعد بولی:
“مرد
کیا بدکار نہیں ہوتے؟”
سناٹا
چھا گیا۔ تالیاں نہیں، سرسراہٹ نہیں—صرف خاموشی جس میں ہر لفظ کا وزن محسوس ہوتا تھا۔
اس
کے دل میں ایک اور سوال بھی تھا، مگر وہ ابھی الفاظ میں نہیں آیا:
کیوں
مرد کے کردار پر سوال کرنا اتنا مشکل ہے؟۔
“خودکشی
کر رہے ہو؟
تو
کرو۔
خط
بھی لکھ کر جاؤ گے؟
وہ
بھی لکھ لو۔”
لڑکی
نے پلکیں جھپکیں۔
الفاظ
آگے بڑھے—
“مگر
یاد رکھنا…
جلدی
میں لکھے گئے خط میں
تمہاری
پوری زندگی نہیں آئے گی۔
اس
میں ماسٹر کی چھڑی نہیں آئے گی،
دوستوں
کی دغا بازیاں نہیں آئیں گی،
گھر
کے جھگڑوں سے زخمی ہوئی نفسیات
اور
وہ سب لاشیں بھی نہیں
جو
تم روز اپنے اندر دفن کرتے رہے۔”
کاغذ
اس کے ہاتھ میں اور زور سے لرزا۔
اس
کی سانسیں بے ترتیب ہو گئیں۔
